I asked Dr. Guthrie and he said they did indeed eat parts of it but perhaps were scared off or something leaving most of it intact. You’ll recall he did originally think it had been scavenged by smaller predators (since some of it was missing) and you can see if one of those photos of the mummy itself (not the taxidermy reproduction) that it is not exactly “intact.” But, I guess that is another part of the mystery.
