Gracious! Such an odd situation. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Serious discussions between citizens and government must happen.

Well spoken, trust (for me) must be earned, especially with Tom Tiffany. If there is a hidden agenda, let's be transparent about it. Also in these uncertain times, trust in federal protection is also in question.

My first reaction was how this would change the solace and beauty of the area. The thought of it being overrun by those who don't know how much it means to those of us who truly care for the area. It is unfortunate that the situation wasn't brought forth to the community in full as well the impact to surrounding people and organizations that would be impacted. I find it terrible that the government just popped in and did their thing without a conversation. Conversation about all the impacts must be done.

Thank you for bringing this to light. We definitely need to be suspicious as to why (most likely money for Republican donors) this is being fast-tracked. As another commenter stated so well, we need to tell government what we want instead of the other way around; after all, they are supposed to work for us.

I had no idea… miigwech for all of this Jeff! My biggest question: how will cause additional impacts to Treaty Rights when we’ve only finally been able to form a MoA addressing the impacts within the last tenish years?! I could be wrong on the timeframe. Also, are tribes being consulted?! I highly doubt it!! Ugh!!!

Having followed Tom Tiffany machinations as he maneuvered through state government to national government, I think there must be something in this move toward national park and preserve status that will benefit Mr. Tiffany's move-up-the-ladder. But as with other initiatives from him (i.e. budget "stuffing") he is looking for a fast decision that will eliminate the slow process that defines democracy.

That is my fear and we just simply cannot make snap decisions on issues with timeless consequences. -- Jeff

Tom Tiffany has shown little interest in this part of the 7th Congressional District. Suddenly he is pushing National Park and Preserve status. There's a hidden agenda here and until we know what that is, we need to say No Thanks! Thanks Jeff for bringing this to our attention.

So sad. Citizens having to take on the government instead of directing it. These people have to remember to stop & think who they work for before they act.

Thank you so much for calling this to our attention. We in NE Wisconsin have heard NOTHING about this...at all. Not even a mention in our greater reaches newspaper. I will be listening in on the 24th. Then need advice as to how to respond, to better help the situation. Your advice is direly needed by all of us that might be able to help...if we knew what to do. Thanks Jeff. All our best. Love ya,!
