A delayed response, but I would choose "Until Today" by Iyanla Vanzant. It holds daily devotions for spiritual grown and peace of mind. Once finished, the read begins again.
End of the Lupine Season by Laurie Otis for some local flavor and A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles for literary brilliance and great storytelling (IMHO).
Great Lakes Rocks, 4 Billion Years of Geological History in the Great Lakes Region, by Stephen E. Kesler.
I have a sailboat on Lake Michigan (Door peninsula area) and have always been curious about the geological features I see when out on the water - or traveling anywhere in this beautiful region of the country.
That is a good choice. There is a classic book on the geology of the Apostles called A Guidebook To The Geology Of Lake Superior's Apostle Islands National Lakeshore And Nearby Areas Of The Bayfield Peninsula Of Wisconsin by Edward B. Nuhfer, and Mary P. Dalles. Fascinating topic. -- Jeff
Thanks for the book recommendation, Jeff! That certainly is a classic - and a rarity. I found 1 used copy on Amazon for approximately $100. I’m definitely going to add it to my boat library, but I’ll be in Bayfield this summer and will try to find it in a local bookstore first.
Yes, $100 is a little steep. I would bet you could find it at Honest Dog Books in Bayfield (used) or Chequamegon Books (used) in Washburn. If you are in Bayfield this summer, let me know. Perhaps we can have coffee and talk Islands. -- Jeff

My Life in Dog Years by Gary Paulsen
Entertaining for sure.

Thanks so much for volunteering this wonderful scenario and in that setting! I’d recommend Sea Wolf by Jack London
Great choice.

Mark Nepo, The Book of Awakening. A marvelous poet and thinker
Sounds like a good choice. I'll add that to my list -- Jeff
AWE by Dacher Keltner. An extraordinary look at the science of awe and the miracles of our sensory systems.🩷
That sounds like a perfect choice (and one I will add to my reading list). Thanks! -- Jeff
